I have a 3 year old child & not very sure what should children his age be learning/playing with. Any advice?

IN MY OPINION, Everyone has different ways of learning. For Boosting your child's brainpower.
I highly recommend an enrichment program that is credited where they can improve and enhance memory learning.
Where they teach advanced and fun techniques that our kids can enjoy at the same time will carry our children forward in their primary school years.
If you want I can recommend some to you.

At this age, should expose your child to a learn through play set up in preschool.

For this age I think flash cards, simple maths card games, memory card games are great for kids...game wright has quite a few good card games for toddlers as well.
