What does a child need to be ready for primary 1?

Hello primary 1 parents (and hopefully teachers)!
I need to ready child to primary 1. What does she need to prepare now that she is in k2?

Academic wise would be reading skills, numeral skills. These are important for their main subjects. Child also needs to learn to be independent.
A very busy parent .... I have no time for myself.

How can we boost up their interest in studies? My girl are more into toys than books. my goodness. :!: :!:

Have to set a daily routine to read books for at least 30 minutes a day, say after dinner everyday. Children are generally not into books..(mostly).

1. Encourage independence
2. Help them learn about making friends
3. Develop speaking and listening skills
4. Teach them to recognise their name
5. Talk enthusiastically about school
