Academic wise would be reading skills, numeral skills. These are important for their main subjects. Child also needs to learn to be independent.

Have to set a daily routine to read books for at least 30 minutes a day, say after dinner everyday. Children are generally not into books..(mostly).

Hello all, my child is entering Pri 1 soon. What are some of stressors a Pri 1 child/parents will go through during this transition? Calling for all experienced folks here!

1. Encourage independence
2. Help them learn about making friends
3. Develop speaking and listening skills
4. Teach them to recognise their name
5. Talk enthusiastically about school
